A bespoke plan to meet your childrens needs

Child Arrangements and Child Inclusive Mediation

Work with a mediator to create a bespoke plan to meet your childrens’ needs following separation.

You can work with a mediator to explore and create a plan covering how you will parent your children
when living separately. What will the children’s daily routines be? How will you discuss matters
regarding the children? How will you discuss and decide on health matters or the nursery/school they
attend? What time will the children spend with each of you, how will you cover childcare during
school holiday, holidays with each parent? How the children’s relationships with their extended
family are maintained? Arrangements for special occasions, Christmas, birthday’s, Mothers day,
Fathers day, Parents birthdays, Children’s birthdays.

Children over 10

All children over the age of 10 should be given the opportunity to be seen in direct consultation as
part of the parent’s child arrangement mediation.

The child is seen separately by the mediator to gather thoughts, feelings and wishes and the child
decides what details are shared with the parents their confidentiality is respected other than if
there are safeguarding concerns.

Children find speaking to an impartial third party helpful as they do not have to worry about
upsetting anyone and have control over what they share.

The child’s views are shared through feedback sessions to the parents and can support the parents in
making decisions regarding living and contact arrangements.

Both parents are required to give consent for the child/children to be seen and the child must want
to participate. Children cannot be forced to attend mediation.

If resolution is not possible the mediator will discuss the next steps with you.
